Were you really nervous at your first audition?

I was a little nervous, my first audition was for "Hearts In Atlantis" which I didn't get.

What was your favorite movie that you were in?

Jeremy Sumpter
My favorite movie I worked on was "Local Boys" since I got to surf a lot of the time and hang out at the beach everyday.

Who is the actor/actress you have liked working with the most?

I liked working with Matt O'Leary on "Frailty" because we became good friends off set.

Jeremy, if you could remake a movie, which one would it be, and why?

I don't know if this would be a remake, but I would like to be in one of the "Jurasic Park" movies.

What pranks have you seen or have been done to you on set?

Matt and I used to put a whoopy cushion under the set teacher on "Frailty." She didn't seem to think it was as funny as we did.

Tom Hanks or Jim Carrey.

Can you tell us a little about your movie Frailty, and your character?

Jeremy Sumpter
"Frailty" is a gothic thriller. I play a kid who believes his dad who thinks he is God's hand. I help him destroy the demons.

Right now I am on a break. I just finished "Local Boys" and "ER."

Do you plan on doing anything special for Christmas this year?

I'm spending Christmas up in Monterey with my family.

how many hours do you go to school and how often?

I go to home school 3-4 hours a day, 5 days a week.

I see you can do impressions, which can you do the best?

I can do Mr. Burns from "The Simpsons" really good, and I can do Jim Carrey and Forrest Gump.

Jeremy how did you get started in the business?

Jeremy Sumpter
I was discovered by my great manager, Mark Robert, at the IMTA convention in Los Angeles, in January 2000.

can you tell us what an average day is like for you?

Jeremy Sumpter
When I'm working, I have to get up very early to eat breakfast at the set, then I usually do a couple hours of school if they don't need me right away. Then it's on to the set where we shoot scenes over and over until they are just perfect. Then there is a lunch break, I may do a little more school, then later that night I go home.

I'm usually there about 10 hours a day.

Do you have any special ways of learning scripts?

Jeremy Sumpter
What I usually do is the night before I go to the set, I look over the scenes for the next day on my callsheet and I memorize those scenes.

I will have the the script through usually the week before I start filming.

I understand you have a facination with storm clouds and really enjoyed the movie Twister (as did I). Do you see yourself becoming a tornado chaser when you get older and studying them to develop another early warning system.

Jeremy Sumpter
Being a storm chaser would be very exciting but I am having a great time being an actor. Bill Paxton and I talked a lot about "Twister" while we were working on "Frailty."

What was it like to work with Bill Paxton?

Bill was very cool to work with. He was a lot of fun. He did a great job directing "Frailty."

Would you liike to work with any Kid Actors and if so who?

Jeremy Sumpter
Seth Adkins and I are great friends and go golfing together. Since we have the same manager, hopefully we'll get to work on something together.

If you weren't an actor, what else would you want to be?

A professional baseball player for the San Francisco Giants.

What would you say was your favorite role to play. Also, which character did most relate with?

Jeremy Sumpter
I liked playing Henry Sturbuck from "Just A Dream" but I think I'm most like "Skeet" from "Local Boys."

Sure, I'd love to work with Bill again.

What is some advice you would tell someone who is just starting out

Jeremy Sumpter
Take a lot of classes and find a good manager or agent who will explain how to get started. I also had great parents who gave up their jobs so we could move to California.

Can you tell us about "Local Boys Only"

There is a lot of surfing, and two local surf gangs get into a fight over the beach and how a young boy relates to a former pro surfer (played by Mark Harmon).

What's the best advice anyone has ever given you?

My mother always tells me not to forget the people back home.

A lot of them sponsored my trip to LA for the IMTA and helped me and my dad when we moved out here.

Which was the hardest to do... theatre, film or TV ??

Doing theatre was the hardest because we only had once chance each night to do it right.

what do you find the most challenging about acting?

Trying not to look at the camera and trying not to look down for your mark. Also trying to get the scene done in one take if you can.

If you could switch places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?

Jeremy Sumpter
Jim Carrey because he seems to be having too much fun.

Has being an actor and being famous changed you in any way? Do you think it has anyway?

Jeremy Sumpter
Not really because my movies come out next year. Although there were two girls who saw me at church who recognized me from "Raising Dad" and that was kind of fun. I'm still the same regular kid.

I want Santa to bring me a basketball hoop set, Play Station 2 games and an Xbox.

I like playing baseball and was on the elite team when I lived in Kentucky.

I don't know too much about it but if I lived in the city that lost a team, I'm sure I'd be upset.

According to your fact sheet, you like Classic Rock. Who is your favorite group, and what about the group's music do you like?

My favorite group is the Doors and my favorite song is "Teenage Wasteland" by the Who. I like the Doors because of their beat.

No, I keep busy with acting and don't have time for one right now.
