Well I have had the opportunity to see the film as it was released in the UK on Sky Premiere back in May. Even though it is not my genre of film I do like the film and I enjoyed watching it. The cast was well chosen and they all played their parts superbly. I would recommend everyone to watch it, rent it but mostly definitely buy it. It is a nice story and definitely one for the whole family to watch.
Sally, welcome and I have a question or three. Did you have much involvement when the filming got underway? What is the feeling like to have written the screenplay and see it come to life on screen? Have you got any other projects on go at the moment?
Hi Tom
First I wanted to thank you for not giving away any of the movie, because you've already seen it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I loved the whole cast and I loved the extras, they are what make a film. They all came and worked for free and spent long hours making the movie look epic!
I was on set every day of filming, just enjoying the whole atmosphere. It was amazing to see it come to life. The time spent at your keyboard can be a lonely time, just writing writing writing.. and then to see the actors speak the words that you've written, is a real rush. Especially with the bigger stars , Jeremy, Brian and Lauren. That was a bit surreal. I had watched Peter Pan when it came to theatres, and wow, I never thought at that time that one day I'd write a movie that Jeremy Sumpter would star in.
I have written a lot of short films, some have gone to festivals. I have a full length feature on iTunes called Minor Details. It's been in the top ten of kids and family rentals for almost six months now. It's more for girls I think, ages 6-16. It has Jennette McCurdy who plays Sam on iCarly in it, and also Caitlin and Dani and two of their friends Kelsey Edwards and Lauren Faber star in Minor Details. It's a mystery movie. That was my first feature, and I learned a lot on that one. I think each time you learn more and more.
I have to say that without the amazing talents of John Lyde the director, who directed and edited both movies, they both would not be as amazing as they are. He has so much talent, and he is the one with magic in his fingertips! (Not just the Valentine twins)
Right now I'm writing a romantic Christmas comedy. I'm excited. I have a couple of scripts that are being pitched around, so hopefully one or two of them will get picked up.
Thanks for the questions, if you have more, please just ask away, I'd be happy to answer anyone's questions.
