Hey everyone. :)

I thought I'd put a topic up where we could talk about "You're So Cupid!", the stars of the film, and where you can also give us some feedback and talk about the contest as well. :) Talk about anything here. If you have questions about the release of the dvd, post it here. If you just want to tell everyone what excites you about this film, post it here for discussion. Or if you have any feedback for us about the contest and the questions, we'd love to hear that too. Part of the reason why we designed this contest this way was so that we can hopefully bring about discussion and excitement as we get close to the DVD's release. So if something in the contest questions or anything at all inspires you, post away!

I also want to give some recognition to the administrators who are working very hard to make this contest happen for you. They are fans like you who were part of the planning of the contest, the creating of the questions, and the judging for the finalists along the way. They are doing a great job, and by doing that job (judging and contest management), they have sacraficed the chance to be in the contest themselves. So I want to say thank you especially to Tinky, Claudia, Arael, Kampel, Wamu, Lavazza, and Constanca for their hard work and dedication to making this contest work. :)

Well first of all, thank you to YOU, James, for this contest as well. I've only been on here for a few days and I've already learned just how much you do for this fansite in general, so thank you for all your work! :)

I was actually just wondering, are they having a premiere for this movie? I know they usually don't do many premieres for none theater released movies, but I have seen some for movies that go straight to dvd and I think this would be such a fun one! Preferably in New York :)

That would be cool, but I do not think they have a premiere screening planned for this film. I'm definitely looking forward to the DVD though. :)

And thank you for kind words. Kerry. You are very welcome. :) I'm glad you have joined us here at JeremySumpter.com.

Actually, You're So Cupid premiered in January of this year at the LDS Film Festival in Utah. Sorry you missed it, it was great to see it on the big screen!

Hi Janean. :)

That's very cool! I was unaware that they screened the film at the LDS Film Festival this year. :) I actually saw The Sasquatch Gang when it played at that festival a few years ago. It was the next year after I saw it premiere at the Slamdance Festival. I believe it was in Orem, Utah if I remember correctly. :) I was in the area for the Sundance Festival that year and went to Orem for that screening.

So without giving any big spoilers, what did you think of "You're So Cupid!" when you saw it? I think it is really great that you got to see it on the big screen. ;)

Hi there,

If it's okay, I thought I'd register and give input to the movie. I'm the writer of You're So Cupid! It was a pleasure to work with Jeremy and all the cast of this movie.

I would be happy to answer any questions anyone has about making the movie, behind the scenes, etc.

The premiere of the movie in Orem was wonderful. It premiered two nights to a large crowd and they all seemed to love the movie. It's received quite a few really great reviews from the press.

Anyway, if anyone wants to know anything (no spoilers :} ) I would be happy to share.

Thanks to James and all the other admins who are working so much on this competition, it truly is a lot of work, and I am very grateful. Jeremy, Mark and James have been wonderful to work with and I and the other producers are very appreciative.

In case everyone doesn't know. You're So Cupid! will be available on August 3rd on iTunes and also video on demand that day too.

Good luck to all those who are trying to win a signed DVD. !!

I believe it had its premiere back in January at the LDSC Film Festival. It was a shame it didn't get appear to have more premieres. I hope its DVD release is a success. :)
Please keep Japan in your thoughts during this time. We are here for you, Japan!

Hi Sally. :)

Welcome to the board and thank you for doing this. :) And thank you for all of your help and for arranging for us to have these DVDs for prizes. :)

Come on, everyone. This is a cool opportunity we have to ask questions to the writer and producer of You're So Cupid! ;)

Hi Romi. :)

Thanks! And you are doing great! Choosing the finalists for each question has been really hard so far as all of you are posting great answers. I'm glad you are having fun. And there are a lot more chances to win, so keep trying. :)

Well I have had the opportunity to see the film as it was released in the UK on Sky Premiere back in May. Even though it is not my genre of film I do like the film and I enjoyed watching it. The cast was well chosen and they all played their parts superbly. I would recommend everyone to watch it, rent it but mostly definitely buy it. It is a nice story and definitely one for the whole family to watch.

Sally, welcome and I have a question or three. Did you have much involvement when the filming got underway? What is the feeling like to have written the screenplay and see it come to life on screen? Have you got any other projects on go at the moment?

Hi Tom
First I wanted to thank you for not giving away any of the movie, because you've already seen it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I loved the whole cast and I loved the extras, they are what make a film. They all came and worked for free and spent long hours making the movie look epic!

I was on set every day of filming, just enjoying the whole atmosphere. It was amazing to see it come to life. The time spent at your keyboard can be a lonely time, just writing writing writing.. and then to see the actors speak the words that you've written, is a real rush. Especially with the bigger stars , Jeremy, Brian and Lauren. That was a bit surreal. I had watched Peter Pan when it came to theatres, and wow, I never thought at that time that one day I'd write a movie that Jeremy Sumpter would star in.

I have written a lot of short films, some have gone to festivals. I have a full length feature on iTunes called Minor Details. It's been in the top ten of kids and family rentals for almost six months now. It's more for girls I think, ages 6-16. It has Jennette McCurdy who plays Sam on iCarly in it, and also Caitlin and Dani and two of their friends Kelsey Edwards and Lauren Faber star in Minor Details. It's a mystery movie. That was my first feature, and I learned a lot on that one. I think each time you learn more and more.

I have to say that without the amazing talents of John Lyde the director, who directed and edited both movies, they both would not be as amazing as they are. He has so much talent, and he is the one with magic in his fingertips! (Not just the Valentine twins)

Right now I'm writing a romantic Christmas comedy. I'm excited. I have a couple of scripts that are being pitched around, so hopefully one or two of them will get picked up.

Thanks for the questions, if you have more, please just ask away, I'd be happy to answer anyone's questions.

Hi Sally, thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions :)

I've dabbled a bit in writing myself, but am not very good because I tend to get "stuck" frequently when I'm writing something. Where did you get the inspiration for "You're So Cupid" and did you have any times when you felt like you were completely stumped during the writing process?

Hi Sally!
Nice to meet you and welcome to this board!

I am master of a fan site of Jeremy in Japan.
And it is one supporting "You're So Cupid".
It will be that the fan of Japanese Jeremy surely likes your work.

I already took the contact in the import of DVD Japanese company which they sold of US.
And we asked it to be able to purchase this DVD.

Perhaps little difference in time intends to be it till they reach our hand.
However, I predict that they will like this DVD next to "Peter Pan". ;) :)

Thanks for reading.
Sorry, my English is no good.

I understand when you say it can be lonely sat at your keyboard. I live on mine building websites for people and editing videos etc. Are you pleased with the outcome of the film? After spending all that time writing it, then letting it go to the director and a cast to be messed with.

Hi Kerry,

I get stuck too... LOTS of times. My rule is to write five pages a day, when I'm writing a screenplay, even if it's really really awful, I try to do that, and then you can always go back and fix it later.

We actually were going to write a space movie and I'd finished the first draft.. but when we pitched it to Disney they said they already had a similar movie, which actually aired a while back.

So the director and I had to go a whole different way. A friend of the director had the idea of the girls having Cupid for a dad. Once I got that idea, with the idea of twin girls being in love and having parents that were separated, I just went with it. It took me about two weeks to write it, as we had a very very tight schedule, we had to move fast.

It almost seemed to write itself, once I got started. I wrote about forty pages in one day!. I think I had some help from a higher power, and I mean that seriously.

I bet yours is a lonely job too, Tom. Yes I am super super pleased with the outcome. As I mentioned I wrote this in two weeks. It was a really awesome experience, because it seemed like everything came to me. The director was and is awesome to work with. I loved what the cast brought to the role.

A little insight. I never imagined Audrey (the twins mom) to be so funny as Lauren Holly was, when I wrote her, I imagined a quiet shy woman. Lauren brought so much to that role, and it's absolutely perfect! Brian was exactly as I imagined, only much much better. He's an amazing actor.

Jeremy was really great as Connor. This was not an easy part to play, as you know Tom, he had walk a fine line between being a real jerk and being totally in love and under the spell, he had to come off as likeable in the role and he did, even though he was sort of playing both sisters. Two of my favorite scenes are with Jeremy. The one where he opens the invitations to the dance, where he becomes under the spell, and the one where he's in the drama room, and both girls are there and he's so funny when he flirts with both of them.
