This month, the JeremySumpter.com Charity Spotlight shines on the American Red Cross and their efforts to help people in need when disaster strikes not only in America but throughout the world. One of the great things about the Red Cross is that when making a tax deductible donation through their website, you get to choose which specific relief effort or cause you want your donation to go to. So if one of their many relief efforts is close to your heart, you can be sure that your money will go to that cause. The unfortunate and tremendous devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan this year has touched Jeremy's heart and all of us here at JeremySumpter.com. Jeremy has recently contributed a portion of his charity fund to support the efforts of the Red Cross in Japan during this time. The hearts and prayers of Jeremy and all of us here at JeremySumpter.com are with our friends in Japan as their country continues to recover. And remember that you can help Jeremy support his primary Charities and other causes like this one by purchasing the autographed photos and memorabilia in our Store. It's a great way for fans to team up with Jeremy and help him make a difference while getting some cool autographed items in the process.

I had a great trip to Texas last week to make three appearances for the Ready Or Not Foundation. This is a really wonderful charity run by the amazing and tireless Barbara Canales. Please check out their website if you haven't already at www.readyornotfoundation.org and please consider making a donation. Every bit helps! 100% of the money raised is dedicated to the funding of scientific research targeting better treatments and a cure for pediatric brain cancer. I will never forget my visit to the the Texas Children's Cancer Center in Houston and the children I met there.
On October 20th, I flew in and made an appearance at the La Palmera Shopping Center in Corpus Christi. There was a great crowd that came out to support us.
The next day we flew to the Rio Grande Valley in a private plane. I was able to sit up in the cockpit which was a lot of fun since I've always wanted to get my pilots license. We had another big crowd and helped raise awareness for the charity in the area. At the event I met Giancarlo Bernini, a 13 year-old boy who had written a book of poetry called "Second Chance" which is illustrated by children with cancer. The majority of proceeds from his book are donated to the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children's Cancer and Hermatology Clinic. Check out his website at: www.SecondChance2Life.com.
Then it was back to Corpus Christi for the final event on Friday where I met Dr. Will Parsons from the Texas Children's Cancer Center. I can't even begin to tell you what wonderful work he is doing.
Thank you Dr. Parsons, Barbara Canales, Doug Allison and Matt Stevens for the terrific work you are doing. I am honored to be part of such a great cause. Jeremy |

Hi Everyone:
Not long ago, I made a visit to Ed Hardy ( www.edhardyshop.com) and got some great clothes. I'll post some pictures on the website. As you can see, it was a lot of fun.
There will be a premiere of "Death and Cremation" Los Angeles next week. So I'll write more then.

Hi Everyone:
I am back in Los Angeles after my grandmother's funeral. This has been a very sad time for me and my family. I would like to thank everyone for their condolences.
They are putting the final touches on "Death and Cremation" and may do a premiere later this month. It was really great working with Brad Dourif on this film and I look forward to seeing him at the premiere.
"You're So Cupid" is being released on DVD on September 7. I think you're really going to like this project. It was a lot of fun to shoot. On Twitter, please follow:

There is also a great "You're So Cupid" fan page on Facebook you should check out:

There will be a contest soon on my official site ( jeremysumpter.com) where you can win an autographed copy of the DVD.
I am attached to a couple of other films that do not have a start date yet.
One is called the "Sons of Summer" which is based on a true story and "tells the story of family, baseball and the American dream's glory and demise in the last gasp of small town America."
The next film I'm attached to will probably shoot next spring. It is a science-fiction project called "Drones, Clones and Pheromones". More on that when it is available.
Finally there is a spiritual film that I am interested in shooting and is probably one of the most intriguing scripts I have ever read. That film could shoot as early as August. I should know more on that in a couple of weeks.
I hope you are having a great summer.

Hello,
I've been busy reading scripts and looking at projects. There are several films that I am considering in various stages of development. One is a science-fiction project that would also include my friends Matthew Fahey and Tabitha Morella.
The next is a teen drama. I'll give you more details when they are available.
The third is "The Boys of Summer", a film that I am attached to that would shoot in Michigan. Since the information on that one is now on the Internet, I can tell you a little bit about the storyline:
"Former county league baseball star turned Marine, James Dalton lies in a blast hole with his brother Jacob in Vietnam, staring death right in the face. There he makes a promise to God to be a good father and always keep his family together, if only he lives. The effects of that promise are shown in the years ahead. Years later, alive and well, veteran James moves his family to the mining town of Rupland where baseball is that of a religion. His three sons: Michael, Matthew and Mark, become intertwined with the game and the town's growing problems that tear the family apart. The father of a true ball player, a rebel and a storyteller, James battles to keep his boys together through Rupland's hardships of alcohol and drug abuse, death, decline and war. From Little League to the town's famous "Summer League", the Dalton boys grow to follow different paths in life that change the course of their family forever. The Boys of Summer tells the story of family, baseball and the American dream's glory and demise in the last gasp of small town America." - Summary written by Michael Dault
It's a strong script and a true story and I look forward to shooting it.
I also appeared at the "Inspire A Little Love" charity event tonight and met a lot of great people and hopefully raised awareness and funds for this great cause.

As you probably know, I've been busy filming "Soul Surfer." It's a very inspirational story with a great cast and crew and terrific producers and director. I've been fortunate to be able to have my parents come to location with me in Hawaii. Jessy and Gigi are busy with college so they couldn't make it.
During the filming of a surf scene last week, I slipped off my surf board and slammed my knee into the reef. The leash to my surf board got caught on the coral and I was held under water for about 45 seconds. I was able to finally get away and swim to the surface but my knee hurt so I had to have an MRI on it to see if I had torn anything. Fortunately it was only bruised and I didn't miss any filming. Everyone took a day off as the location was evacuated due to the potential tsunami. We drove up into the hills and waited it out. Now we've returned and everything is back to normal. We were filming again today, it's good to be back in the water! I have about another ten days of filming before I wrap. I'll have some pictures of the trip when I return to LA.
