It's summer, the days are long and the waves are crashing in.
The only trouble is your older brother's hardcore surfer image gets
in the way of you hanging around. But things begin to look up
on Skeet's twelfth birthday when his older brother Randy buys him
his first board. Suddenly it's endless days of searching for
the perfect wave, wild times at beach parties with Randy and his
surfing buddies, and Skeet finding his own daring adventures when
Randy's attention turns to sexy Samantha. Beyond his wildest
dreams, Skeet is taken under the wings of surfing legend Jim Wesley
(Mark Harmon) who gives skeet first-hand lessons in hot-dogging.
Life hasn't been this good since Skeet
and Randy's father died. Nor has it felt so good to Jim since
his wife and child were killed in a car accident. But even now
there are ripples. Hoodlum surfers steal Randy and his friends
boards and try to move in on their home break. And Randy,
still dealing with the loss of his father and trying to fill his
shoes, is jealous of Jim's increasing influence on Skeet and
definitely isn't thrilled when Jim strikes up a relationship with
their single mom. Skeet, tangled by the conflict between his
brother and his newfound father figure, retreats to his room while
longing to surf. In spite of their
troubles, nothing is going to prevent Randy, Skeet, and all of
Randy's colorful friends from enjoying this legendary summer.
